I can now sit in the priority seating area on the trains because of two reasons. Which ones?
That's right! We're currently 9 weeks pregnant- due the end of August or beginning of September. We found out 7 weeks ago and managed to squeeze in an appointment before moving over here to Japan. My doctor initially said I didn't need to set up any appointments in Japan (I was going to be 19 weeks when we returned home) but we have since been extended so now I'm going to have to set up a couple.
This pregnancy has been very similar to my first but milder in experience. So far the fishy smells of Japan haven't bothered me- smell in general hasn't been a problem but food aversions have been strong.
My morning sickness was a little difficult when we first arrived due to jet lag- rather than experience it 9am-2pm it was 1am- 6am, making it super hard to sleep. Most days are fine and I'm able to get out with Gabriel as well as work out but other days I wake up and feel like I haven't slept all night and lack a lot of motivation to get outside until late in the day.
It's strange being pregnant again because the last memories I have of pregnancy are filled with kicks, punches, hiccups, while now I don't feel a baby, just all the crazy symptoms the baby is causing.
Next week we'll be half way there and gaining excitement every moment of this journey. We've already decided that we aren't going to learn the gender before birth which means we're also not discussing names with people. No hard feelings, we just learned from the first pregnancy that it's a lot easier to criticize a name before a baby is born than after.
Here's to our every expanding and changing adventure called life!
