Weekly Wrap-Up no. 8

{THIS} Blog Post

This week a friend of mine pinned a post titled 'The Most Frightening Prayer I Could Pray for My Children.' Of course it got my attention and I had to read it. It really made me think differently about how and what I prayer for Gabriel because, like Christina, up until this week one of the things we have been praying for was comfort. There is nothing wrong about praying that God would grace your child with comfort (especially when you are praying for comfort in the times of teething!) but as she pointed out the greatest growth happens during times that are not comfortable, times where we actually find ourselves struggling. I highly encourage you to read this post!

These are a few of my favorite things....
Sliced Almonds
Poppy seed Dressing

We finally made it to our first Seattle Sounders FC game! It was a little touch and go at first because we didn't realize where our seats actually where when we purchased them. We were in the bleachers up high under the speakers which was way too loud for Gabriel during all the opening events. Fortunately it quieted way down once the game started. We managed to cut some earplugs in half and make them work for him. He slept through the entire second half so I guess things weren't too.

Double Ele has a little bit of everything in their large and beautifully stocked shop! What I love about Etsy is that it connects people all around the world and all her creations are shipped from Hong Kong!

{THESE} Words

When I came across this this week it made me smile because this is how I felt when I met my now husband for the second time. A mutual friend of ours introduced us at a church camp back in college when I was a sophomore and he was a senior. I had a little crush on him that weekend but he seemed far from interested so the crush started and ended at that camp. Little did we both know that a year and a half later we'd cross paths again and when that happened I remember going home knowing that I was going to marry him some day.

  1. Love this... love all the ideas. Thanks so much for sharing x

    1. Glad you enjoyed it! Have a great week!

  2. The part about comfort is so true. How do we really know what good times are if we haven't had a few bad times in life. Perhaps the prayer should be to keep the bad times to a minimum.
