Mommy's Law

Pretty sure Murphy was a woman and she was a mommy... Anyone?

Christopher started Swing shift again last week so needless to say things have been a little thrown off at our place. Gabriel has been staying up late and/or I have "chores" that I need should do that keep me up late, like painting my toe nails. Okay so some of my late nights this week have been my own fault but sometimes I just need some me time no matter how late it has to be!

Last night I decided that as soon as little man was asleep I was going to cozy myself into bed and catch up on the many hours I had lost over the week. Barely a half hour after I snuggled in I heard babbling over the monitor. Uh-oh, not a good sign since happy babbles only happen after nap wake-ups. I treated it like a night time wake up but as soon as I picked him up from the pack-n-play I was losing all hope that I was actually going to get to go to bed before 11pm. Thinking nursing would possibly get him back down was super wishful thinking since that more or less seemed to give him another boost of energy. Of course, the night that I finally get into bed is the night the babe decides he doesn't want to be in bed! Mommy's Law.

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em was the theme of the night. Even when I think I have hit my rock bottom of tired I cannot turn down playing with an ecstatic over-the-moon kinda happy baby. Thank goodness for mommy endorphins!

Here's a fun little video of our middle of the night playtime. Hope it gives you the giggles like it continues to give me!

  1. Oh my goodness he is very awake! :) Wow... I don't know how I could ever do that!
Is that necklace for the natural teething healing? I remember one of the babies use to have one! If it's looks just like it haha :)

    1. SO awake! I bet you'll be able to once you get there! And yes, amber teething necklace!

I love reading your comments so please don't be shy! I'll usually even invite myself over after you've dropped a note to see what you're up to!
