So I am pretty excited about this recipe, why? Well because I feel like I can actually call it my own! After a couple tries this one is good enough to pass on! I'm enjoying having time now to experiment more in the kitchen!
Ingredients:
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 cup cold butter, cubed
- 1 egg
- 1 cup canned pumpkin
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons milk
- Cinnamon and sugar
Directions: In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, ground cloves, ground nutmeg, ground ginger and salt; cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs, I use a pastry blender.
Roll into a 9-in. circle; cut into eight wedges. Place on an ungreased baking sheet. Brush tops with milk; sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
Bake at 425° for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm.
