Goodwill Win!

Being young homeowners, we're thankful to have a home even if we can't really fill it... To paint the picture for you we live in a three bedroom, 2.5 bath, two story, house filled only with the furniture from Chris's college one room apartment. See it now? The items inhabiting our formal living room are simply children's books and a rocking chair, In our master bedroom the mattress sits on top of the box-spring on the floor, and none of the five pieces of furniture (two dressers, two night stands, one mirror) match. At times it's a little frustrating because of course we desire to have a gorgeous put-together home... but, at the end of the day we look passed that and just feel so blessed to have a house as newlyweds in our early twenties.

With that said, we want to fill our home but on a tight budget, which boils down to Craigslist and the Goodwill. A few times throughout the day I'll surf craigslist and a few times a week I'll stop by the Goodwill. One of the pieces we have been trying to find for our home is a short and long buffet for the breakfast area to house our awesome kitchen tools. The other morning I stopped into the Goodwill and saw just what we were looking for but I had a few concerns: (1) price felt a little steep ($49.99), (2) might be too long, (3) wanted the husband to confirm the purchase. I decided to risk waiting till I came back with Chris that evening to make a decision. Thank goodness I waited because when we returned in the evening Chris said it was perfect AND it was not ticketed as $14.99! DONE!

Here's a sneak peek as to what it looks like now! We have big refinishing plans filled with sanding, painting, and detailing. Stay tuned!
